Some years ago, when I was in my 20's I rescued what looked very much like a Barracuda in Tenerife in March. It was about 5-6 feet long and had the long head with lots of lethal teeth that would have loved to take a bite out of me (and tried). It also had the large fan like fin on it's back which was damaged, it looked like a wind surfer or jet ski may have caught it. Do Barracuda live round Tenerife and if not does anyone know what it could have been. My Dad and Husband were sure it was a Barracuda.

I came upon a barracuda while snorkling off of St. Thomas, USVI last week. It was only about two feet long but it did have a menancing look to it. That plus a grill of sharp teeth caused me to give it a wide berth.
