HI I have resuced a barn owl from dive bombing crows, magpies, and butcher birds. Have been feeding it mince. won't open its mouth for me but will force feed. I can hold it and sits contentedly in my lap. Had a strained leg which made it unable to perch two days ago when I got it but now perches but favours its sore leg.
At the bottom of the video clip it said not to release captive owls as the will die. I live on acerage do you think I will be able to release this one when its leg is better and feeds its self?
Ps any sugesstions on food. Will they eat caught mice? ie in a trap or only live food?
