		<description>Long ago, the Grand Canyon consisted of the Colorado River flowing over a flat plateau. Over time, the river weathered the rock beneath it and carried it away. As rock was continually broken down and removed, the Colorado River gradually chiseled out the awesome canyon that exists today.</description>
