Chickasaw National Recreation Area

At the Chickasaw National Recreation Area the creeks are cool and flow over the incredible travertine terraces while at the campgrounds in the Chickasaw National Recreation Area families and friends reunite together while getting ready to embrace some fun either hiking or doing some awesome water activity sports.

Lake of the Arbuckles

In 1966 the Bureau of Reclamation built the Lake of Arbuckles. In Oklahoma many say that it is one of the most popular and known places to fish. The facilities include picnic areas, three campgrounds, shelters, public restrooms, tables, boat docks, drinking water plus boat ramps. Visitors can go fishing and enjoy some awe-inspiring scenery while they are fishing. There’s also a variety of fish that visitors will be able to see.

Things to do at the Chickasaw National Recreation Area

There’s a variety of activities and nearby attractions for visitors to do at the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. Some of those activities include camping, boating, fishing, swimming, walking, hiking and taking pictures of the beautiful scenery that is in the area.

The kids can go to the Junior Ranger Station and the Junior Ranger Program and have fun with doing all kinds of activities, puzzles, games and they’ll also get to hike on a park trail.
