South Lakes Wild Animal Park is based in the North West of England. It is well sign posted and easy to find, situated just 20 minutes from the Lake Windermere area.
South Lakes Wild Animal Park has a massive range of animals for you to meet whilst you are there from all over the world. However they are always looking to expand the animals on their books and in 2010 alone invited lots of new animals to join them. Additions include: humboldt penguin, giant otter, two toed sloth, paca, black howler monkey, jaguar and prarie marmot.
The zoo is dedicated to educating children so that they can grow up knowing just how special the animals of our world are. On the last Sunday of each month they open their doors to children who want to come and visit and listen to talks about the animals and really get up close and personal with them.
They are also all about the animals in the world that need our help and not just the ones that live with them. They run many conservation projects which help endangered animals from all over the world and they encourage you to get involved in as many of these as you can.
