Bart the Bear is one of the best loved and brightest of Hollywood’s animal’s stars.
Born in 1977, Bart was an Alaskan Brown Bear, or Kodiak bear who was truly remarkable in his ability to know what his trainers wanted from him.

Bart the Bear was raised and trained by famed animal trainers Doug and Lynne Seus in Wasatch Rocky Mountain Wildlife Inc, which was located in Park City Utah. They got Bart as a small cub from a zoo.

Bart began his training in 1980 for his acting career.

His mother was also an actress, starring in Day of the Animals and Grizzly Bart started to train in acting in 1980 and grew to 9 feet tall, weighing 1780 pounds as an adult.

During his lifetime Bart acted with such super stars as John Candy and Steven Segal.

Bart was also the spokesperson for the Animal Cancer Center in Colorado, as well as ambassador for the Vital Grounds Foundation.

Vital Ground has purchased a wildlife habitat along the Rocky Mountains and Kodiak Island.

Because of Bart¹s life in captivity a lot of his brother bears were permitted to roam wild.
Bart the Bear died of cancer in May of 2000 at the ripe old age of 23, which is about the norm for bears in captivity.
